Sign up to go to dinner with a group led by a volunteer from GADE, the host chapter of the conference.  These groups will leave after attending the Grand Opening of Exhibits.  Each pays for his/her own meal.  More details to come!

This tour is designed for the night crawlers. Krog Street, formerly a warehouse district, is now one of the must-visit places located at the heart of one of Atlanta’s oldest neighborhoods: Inman Park. Experience a haunting mixture of ghostly tales and pub crawling on this walking tour of Atlanta. Hear all about Oakland Cemetery and the haunted bars and buildings that surround the area. The tour lasts about 2.5 hours and involves approximately 1 mile of walking. Along the way we will stop in four different bars giving everyone enough time to enjoy a drink if they want while the costumed guide reveals all the amazing history and spooky stories of Atlanta.    (8 or more participants required)

Explore Atlanta and learn about Martin Luther King, Jr.'s life and work in the civil rights movement with a local guide on this group heritage tour.  Begin your day at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center. Established in 1968 by Mrs. Coretta Scott King, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change (“The King Center”) houses more than 10,000 documents from MLK's personal collection. Other highlights of the tour include Dr. King’s childhood home, Ebenezer Baptist Church, Dr. King’s Tomb. Stop by MLK's favorite soul food restaurant and one of Atlanta’s best loved diners, Busy Bee. Please note this tour provides an alternate restaurant, Paschal’s Restaurant.  Both restaurants are well-known meeting places for the architects of the civil rights movement including Andrew Young, Maynard Jackson, Vice President Al Gore, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.    (10 or more participants required)

This tour includes the Swan House built in 1928 for Edward and Emily Inman in Atlanta, Georgia.  This beautiful historical home was the site for many movie locations including The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Mockingjay: Part 1, and Mockingjay: Part 2.  In 1966 the Swan House and grounds were acquired by the Atlanta Historical Society.  Our tour also includes the Smith Family Farm, a plantation house built in the 1840s.  The grounds include a smokehouse, slave gardens & costumed interpreters.  Explore the main buildings and gardens of the beautiful, historical Swan House, the Smith Family Farm, and the Margaret Mitchell House.  Price of lunch at the Swan House not included in tour price.    (10 or more participants required)
